Harbor Collision - The Gold Standard in Collision and Auto Repair for Utica, New Hartford, Rome and the surrounding areas. Harbor Collision has the state-of-the-art equipment it takes to restore your vehicle to pre-collision condition. A 7,600 square foot facility, we handle 8 direct repair insurance programs, employ 6 technicians, and serve the Utica, New Hartford, Rome and Adirondack areas with the best collision and auto repair. But it hasn’t always been that way.

Hot Rod History

I started in the body shop and auto / collision repair business in 1975. I took an entry level in the wash bay of the local GM dealership, hoping to be given a chance to work in the body shop. As I moved up the ladder to the position of helper, I got my chance.

That’s when I partnered with Joe Damiano, a true craftsman who had learned from the old school - 1950’s hot rods, lead filler, handmade tools, and a ton of fabrication. The skills and passion I learned from uncle Joe are the foundation of every collision and auto repair job we work on today. (Joe still practices his craft, working with pristine 100 PT pre-war Harley Davidsons).

I moved to South Florida to earn my wings as a body repair man. I worked in shops from Del Ray Beach to North Palm Beach as a flat rate body man in dealerships. That experience allowed me to put what I had learned to use, and to develop my own style.

I moved back home to Utica in 1989 and started Harbor Point Collision in north Utica. It was a small, four stall garage with a home made spray booth and frame machine. Since then, Harbor Collision has grown steadily, and is now the best name in collision and auto repair for the entire upstate New York area.
